The Dark Age Of Evangelism

29 June 2013 4 Comments

Hi everyone,

I have just completed the second edition of my book on evangelism.

It contains new stats, new insights, new revelations about the state of evangelism in the West and what we can do to fix this tragic situation.

Every chapter of the original book has been revised. There are even brand new chapters!

When we print next, I am going to change the title to “The Dark Age Of Evangelism. Believe it. We are living in it.”

There are no more copies of my book left for sale in NZ from the original print run of 3000.

You can read the 2nd Edition version here before it is published.

Feed back would be appreciated. If you can suggest a better title, please do.

    Hey Julian

Looking forward to the second edition. However, your proposed title does not reflect the content as well as the original title or encourage anyone to even pick it up to have a look. I would suggest “Evangelism; How the church has lost this vital activity and how every Christian can engage effectively”. That we are in the dark age of evangelism is only part of your book’s message. What you propose as the title would be more effective as the opening sentences of your preface as you with all passion and earnestness lay out the current desperate state of the church’s attitude towards evangelism. Without knowing you or the full message of your book, I would not be interested in a book about the dark age of anything let alone evangelism.

Hi Ken, the points you raise have given me some fuel to take to prayer! Appreciate you taking the time to write them so much.

    Hi Julian,

I agree with Ken that “The Dark Age of Evangelism would not be the most appropriate title for the new edition of your book. You want a title which will cause people to pick it up and read it.

Re Mr Genor, I have in front of me a book “Jenner of George Street – Sydney’s Soul-winning Sailor” by Dr Raymond Wilson. This is the true story of Frank Jenner. Unfortunately there are some apocryphal stories about, one of which

    calls him ”Mr Genor”.

As far as I know the book is not available in bookshops. I obtained my copy by contacting the author whose email is redowilson@smartchat.net.au .

If you contact Dr Wilson I am sure that he would be delighted to send you a copy.

I have written up a brief summary of the book, less than three A4 pages long. I would be happy to email this to you but urge you to get the book which you would enjoy.

    God bless,

    Keith Wilson

Hi Keith, nice to hear from you. Point taken about the book title – can you suggest a better one? :)
Points noted about Mr Jenner aka Mr Genor. Thanks so much. Julian
