Hi,
I signed up to a web site called “Linkedin”.
Here, pastors from all over the world discuss “issues” to do with Church life.
I posted a question on this site, inviting pastors to comment/ give their opinion.
The question was this. “ONLY 2% OF THE CHURCH IN THE WEST ENGAGES IN BIBLICAL EVANGELISM. WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF THIS SHAMEFUL STATISTIC?”
In the next few blogs, I am going to give you the answers they gave.
They make interesting reading!

Wow! I had a great experience today at Pak N Save supermarket.
I was standing in the Express Lane waiting to pay.
There were about  6 people in the queue.
Our line didn’t seem to be getting shorter, and I could feel myself becoming agitated.
There was an old lady with a few things holding things up.
Everyone was watching her.
I looked behind me and could see others were looking annoyed, frustrated, and even angry (just like me).
They too were watching and listening to what was going on at the checkout.
Eyes were rolling.
Several times the …

A lot is made in the Western Church about the need to be “relational” in our evangelism and NZ is no different.
When one asks those who promote ‘relational evangelism’, they are often not sure themselves about exactly what they mean by “relational” as it relates to evangelism.
From what I have been able to ascertain, it means:

having multiple conversations with the same person on the topic of God.  The time spent in each conversation could be a few minutes or a few hours.  What’s important is that friendship is built …

Hi everyone
An appeal was launched last week to raise $25,000 for a waste water system at Oke Bay.
As a ministry, we have a vision to build an evangelism training centre at this incredible location.
To view photos of the location, please click here
You can read about the vision here.
So far, $4500 has been donated of the $25,000 needed.
Thank you so much for those who have given or pledged to give.
For those who are still thinking about giving, please do so.
We are asking the Lord for:
1 person who would give $5000
1 person …

Hi everyone,
I have just completed the second edition of my book on evangelism.
It contains new stats, new insights, new revelations about the state of evangelism in the West and what we can do to fix this tragic situation.
Every chapter of the original book has been revised. There are even brand new chapters!
When we print next, I am going to change the title to “The Dark Age Of Evangelism. Believe it. We are living in it.”
There are no more copies of my book left for sale in NZ from the original …

Hi everyone,
Today I was in a shop doing some business.
While I was browsing, I got into conversation with a Middle Eastern shop assistant who would have been in his mid forties.
I said “Can I ask you a question?”
“What’s the best selling book in the world?”
“Harry Potter” he replied.
“No, it’s the Bible” I said, smiling.
“We just made a video which summarises the main message of this book in 11 minutes. Here, have this card” (a www.biblein11.com business card).
“Oh”, he said, “I am not really interested.”
(light heartedly) “So where do you think …

Hi,
Many of you are aware of the vision we have to develop an evangelism Training Centre at Oke Bay in the Bay of Islands.
The property is in 3 lots.
On one lot there is a 120 year old Lodge, which we are restoring.
Teams of volunteers, and some individuals, both Christian and non-Christian, have been coming from all over NZ to help.
Restoration started in January this year.
We are making great progress.
Enjoy the before and after photos below.

The Lodge is situated at the beginning of the Cape Brett walking track, rated one of …

Hi everyone, this great testimony just came in from Warwick and Jan Hulse, a faithful couple in Hamilton (left).
———————————————————————————
Hi Julian,
Had a wonderful experience of God Almighty’s power 2 days ago.
Visited an old acquaintance residing in an Alzeimher’s Residence.
He is a  catholic, and I would say totally passed communications now.
Not able to recognise who is who etc. On arrival, the nurse showed me into a large common room, and there he was, sound asleep.
She woke him,  I said  ‘’ hullo Bill, it’s Warwick” He stared at me and after a while, whispered my name! and then went …

Hi everyone,
I recently listened to the best, most anointed teaching I have EVER heard on Lazarus and the rich man from Luke 16.
This preaching is SO powerful and profound, I thought I would share it with you.
I encourage you to:

Read the Parable a few times yourself.
Write down what the Holy Spirit teaches you.
Download each of these audio files and listen to them prayerfully and carefully.
Compare what you wrote down with what the preacher of the messages taught.

Through them, the Holy Spirit has a lot to say to us about evangelism, …

Hi Julian
I was reading Matthew 5:14-16 last night and it reminded me of when I hear Christians say “if we just go around doing random good deeds we glorify our Father in heaven.”
This is true only when it is paired up with other truths in the Bible.
Let me explain.
I have a wonderful Muslim friend who runs a business in NZ and spends 6 months of the year in …

Yesterday I picked up a hitch hiker who had spent 25 of his 46 year life in jail.
He’d been inside for things like attempted murder, armed robbery, and inflicting grievous bodily harm.
It made for an interesting trip.
For the two hour journey, I was careful not to get into any arguments
He’d only recently become a Christian but when I showed him the Gospel via www.biblein11.com he was blown away by how clear the message was and wanted to show it to all the 96 people living at the rehab …

Last blog I talked about how an evangelist can compromise their calling and grieve the Holy Spirit.
I ended the blog by saying this:
“Today’s evangelists are under enormous pressure to compromise their God-given job description and the vast majority have succumbed.

Instead of equipping people in the Church how to proclaim or spread the gospel for the glory of Jesus, they have instead turned to teaching people “other skills and behaviours”: how to build friendships with the un-churched, how to be a person of influence, how to give a testimony, how to …

In this blog I am going to talk about evangelists.
An evangelist is someone who is gifted by God to spread or proclaim the gospel.
Someone without the gift of evangelism who spreads and proclaims the gospel is an evangeliser, not an evangelist.
So what’s ‘the gospel’?
The gospel, as Jesus used this phrase in Mark 16:15 (Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel), is a message which can be communicated either verbally or in writing.
The message explains to non-Christians:

Why we must be saved.
How Jesus can save us.
What we must do to …

Hi
Many of you are aware that as a ministry we are developing a property in the Bay of Islands.
The specific location is Oke Bay. The land is in three titles. On one of the three pieces of land there is a 120 year old, six bedroom Kauri villa.
Oke Bay is situated at the start of the Cape Brett walking track, which is rated one of the 100 best in the world.
Literally thousands of people from all countries around the world walk this track which ends at Hole In The Rock.

Hi everyone,
One of the tools we use to reach the lost with the gospel is a little 3 minute survey.  To read the survey, click here
It’s simple to use.  All one does is approach a stranger, invite them to do a survey, and give them a gospel booklet at the end or share the gospel with them verbally.
After doing literally hundreds of these surveys, I have discovered an interesting thing.
Non Christians, whether they are atheists, buddhists, hindus, tree huggers, or whatever – they all have one thing in common.
With a …

I have always said that the gay marriage bill would become law with the vast majority of MP’s voting for it.
Why was the outcome so easy to predict?
Answer? Because we as a Church have stopped proclaiming the gospel i.e. evangelising.
Only 2% of the Church now engage in Biblical evangelism.
And when the gospel ceases to be proclaimed, society rots.
Who says so?
John Stott is one of many theologians who advocate this.  Listen to his wise and insightful words.
“We have seen that society needs salt [preservation] and light [reformation], but only the gospel can …
