This email came from my good friend Alan Woods in Australia.

Alan is a father, husband, businessman and anointed evangelist.
In the following email he tells how he met a pastor (James)  in India who refused to let people from other churches transfer to his church.
James has a theory that older believers corrupt new believers, turning their hearts against evangelism.
I met James through his brother Sam.
Sam used to work for an international Hotel in Visagapatnam and was always at the airport meeting guests, introducing himself.
When Sam found out I was in India …

Hi everyone,
I recently received this email from Invercargill Presbyterian Minister John Cromarty.
Hi Julian,

I was out going door to door yesterday.
I was getting pretty ordinary responses but then came Angela.

Angela was about 24-25.
She had no religious affiliations but thought her dad was a Christian.
What’s interesting is that she has no idea why she believes in God but she does.
I showed her the gospel as per
At the end she confessed she would go to hell if she died tonight.
Angela absolutely wanted Jesus to give her his perfect record so it was …

Hi everyone
An appeal was made earlier this year  to raise $25,000 for a waste water system at Oke Bay.
The original estimate for the installation was $25,000.  This has risen to $29,000 because of the terrain at the Bay.
As a ministry, we have a vision to build an evangelism training centre at this incredible location.
To view photos of the location, please click here
You can read about the vision here.
So far, $15,000 has been donated or pledged of the $29,000 needed.
Thank you so much for those who have given or pledged to …

I am doing a bit of relief teaching at the moment to pay the bills.
Today I was in a certain teacher’s class.
One of the students came up to me and asked for something which he assured me I would find in one of the teacher’s drawers.
When I opened one of the drawers, I saw a Gideon’s Bible right on top.
It was obvious he had been reading it.
There were many things in that drawer! I even took a photo! (right)
So when I finished with this student’s request, I went back and …

As a ministry, we are working with Pastors Darryl and Pati Knappen in the USA.
Darryl and his lovely wife Pati lead Cornerstone Church in Minnesota.
Darryl has been trying to raise the profile of evangelism in his city, and in his own church.
They have been implementing “the 28 strategies” we recommend.
One of Darryl’s goals is to encourage all the ministers in his city to work together to fulfil the Great Commission i.e. to have everyone in their city hear and understand the gospel at least once.
Below is an update from Darryl.
It’s …

Various churches in NZ and other countries are on the journey towards developing a ‘culture of evangelism’ in their church.  Below is a report from the Evangelism Team Leader (George and Sue Jeffrey) at Te Puke Baptist Church in NZ
“Hi Julian,
I have an evangelism table set up as you suggested some time ago.
I have a table with a notice board behind, I print off your notices and have a selection of tools on the table.
Every Sunday I see new people making use of it.
A few Sunday’s ago a lady took …

I have started teaching in secondary schools a few days a week in order to supplement my income and work towards getting the sewerage system in and going at Oke Bay.
What a joy to be among the students!
They are so hungry to hear the gospel which they access on my iphone.
Two days ago, 2 fifteen year olds were mooching around with nothing to do so I engaged in conversation with them.
It turned out they were both church goers.
I told them about and they were dead keen to watch the …

I go to a gym each day and in the foyer of the gym is a notice board.
I have starting pinning cards on the notice board and watching them disappear.
You can just see the pink biblein11 card in the photo on the right.
It’s been fun to watch them go.
So, look for a public notice board, and make it “your board” to restock with Bible in 11 cards.
It’s just another way of adding some spice to life, putting a smile on the face of Jesus, and advancing the Great …

Hi everyone, recently I connected with a pastor in the USA who is trying to mobilise his church for evangelism.
On one level, it’s hugely encouraging because Matt (the pastor) is a rare leader who is leading from the front in evangelism.
On another level it’s sad reading.
You decide for yourself.
Hi Julian,

We are in Altoona Pennsylvania. Altoona is in the central part of our state.
Population of our region is around 80,000.
Our church is running around 70.
We are a Southern Baptist Church (though not in the South) The culture of our church in the …

Hi everyone,
Recently I made a connection with Irish evangelist Rob Vollebregt.
He found me by surfing the web and coming across
We have since talked at length on skype.
I wanted to know if what we are experiencing here in NZ, Australia, and the USA is any different from Ireland.
That is to say, I wanted to know if trying to mobilise the Church for evangelism in Ireland and sustain them in it was excruciatingly hard.
From my conversation with Rob I found him to be grounded, gracious, humble, intelligent, mature in his faith, …

I am amazed how many people there are inside the Church who have a strong opinion about evangelism and who sound like experts on the subject:

what evangelism is an isn’t
what the gospel isn’t and isn’t
the right way to be reaching non-Christians with the gospel
what works in evangelism and what doesn’t
how we should and shouldn’t be doing it
…the list is endless.

Yet, after some digging, we find the vast majority are doing very little or even no evangelism themselves and they have not studied the subject at all.
The following is an example …

Please take a moment to watch this video.
Does it evangelise, or it is “ploughing”?
Remember, to evangelise to proclaim or spread the gospel.
To say “we’ve proclaimed the gospel”, as Jesus used this phrase in Mark 16:15, our message must cover four essential areas of content.

Why we must be saved
How Jesus can save us
What we must do to be saved
The cost of becoming a disciple

The question is this – does this video cover this essential content in sufficient detail to be labelled ‘an evangelistic video’?
Or is this video just highly interesting, and …

The continuing story of the university student I met in a store…..
I met up with her a few days later and we talked for an hour and a half and she was thirsty to hear everything I shared.
When I mentioned the New Testament she asked me “was that written recently?”
Which is a good question if you know absolutely nothing about the Bible.
There is a whole generation out there waiting for us to explain the gospel! Last night she came for dinner and to our Young Adults home group and she …

Hi, good friends of mine Lynne and Alan Taylor from Hamilton answer this important (and often talked about!) question. Thanks Alan and Lynne for sharing your great and insightful thoughts! Wow! Aren’t you just the best!
Is it really true that no one wants to hear the gospel?
No it’s not true!
In fact it is the complete opposite.
Isn’t that typical of the deceiver to try and deceive and to stop us opening our mouths with truth?
The Bible clearly says in John 4:35 “lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that …

The following is an email I received from pastor Jono Millar from Hamilton.  It’s so encouraging I thought I would forward it on to you!
I’ve been meaning to email you lately with a few stories of how God has been blessing with evangelism.
We are dealing with the council at the moment regarding a church building we are getting.
My initial inquiry was with the planner on duty for short inquiries, an Indian man named Prajit (or something like that).
The duty planner is available for up to 15 minute inquiries.
I dealt with my questions for him in …

Yesterday I was driving back from Oke Bay in the Bay of Islands.
It was dark and raining.
On the fringe of Whangarei, there was a man standing on the side of the road with his thumb out.
He looked about mid 30′s, and European.
Through the dark and rain, he looked like a road worker, as he had one of those fluorescent orange vests on.
I had just cleaned the inside of my car that day, so the thought picking up a muddy-booted road worker didn’t appeal, so I kept driving.
A few hundred metres …

100 thriving churches were surveyed in America.
Researchers wanted to find out why they were succeeding.
In every case, one of the key factors, said the researchers, was accountability in evangelism.
Staff were accountable to each other, and so were congregational members.
This wasn’t viewed as legalism, but as “iron sharpening iron”  (Proverbs 27:17).
Hebrews 10:24 says “And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds”
When we ‘do’ evangelism, we are doing a good deed.
One way a church can spur its members on, say the researchers, is to …
